Artist's Comments

Here is my first entry in a series of three. She is a water nymph who lives at the bottom of a lake. I wanted this image to have more of an illustrative quality than some of my other works. The image was drawn with colored pencils on Bristol board, with some color corrections in Photoshop.

There is a wonderful sense deliberation to Catfish by ~PinkParasol, adamant in the palette and the methodologies of representing light in an underwater scene, altogether creating an image very much alive with flowing vivacity. (Suggested by =Raishuu and Featured by ^snowmask)

Wow. Just wow. This picture is absoloutely stunning, I love it, and the detail is just amazing. Instant :+fav:!

Thank you so much! I use prismacolors.. out of all the brands I have tried, they work the best for me when it comes to blending.

Wow! In the small version I would have said this was digital art! You've managed to make the torso area glow using the pencil.

Would you ever consider posting any higher resolution images of smaller details of your pencil work? How long did it take to make this? The blending must have taken hundreds of hours!

Ooh, I love how you ended up finishing out the frame! Can't wait to see your other mermaids. ^o^

This is very pretty; I absolutely love the earthy tones you've used in this. The water nymph looks absolutely beautiful, but I can't help but love those fish (I don't know why, but I find fish to be absolutely adorable in their own way). The frame is amazingly detailed, too.

:wow: Awesome work - I can't believe this is coloured pencil. The colours are gorgeous and the amount of detail is amating. Really well done
